Trong tình hình dịch Covid-19 ảnh hưởng đến các hoạt động biểu diễn, tiền tác quyền âm nhạc lại gia tăng từ môi trường nhạc số.

The Covid-19 pandemic broke out again with complicated and difficult-to-control developments that affected all aspects of social life, including music performance activities. The market for live music, concerts, karaoke... was almost frozen, leading to a sharp drop in royalties earned in the second quarter of 2021 these fields.
However, the Vietnam Music Copyright Protection Center VCPMC said that the royalties collected in the second quarter of 2021 still reached nearly 37 billion VND, mainly the digital music environment. During the time of separation, people mainly listen to music the internet, so the amount of money collected these environmental digital music providers increased quite high compared to the same period in previous years.

Besides, right the beginning of 2019, VCPMC also innovated technology in tracing and controlling works on music websites, music apps on Spotify, Tiktok, as well as cooperation between VCPMC and Youtube and Facebook...  Therefore, when the Covid-19 pandemic occurred in Vietnam, the Center soon took measures to minimize the damage, while maintaining the next years growth rate higher than the previous year. .
In addition, during the time when many localities had to social distance to prevent epidemics, VCPMC also flexibly changed its operation method, ensuring all work was smooth. At the Hanoi offices, the southern branch and the representative office of Da Nang, all staff are arranged to be on duty and handle work, ensuring the 5K principle. At the same time, the Center also encourages authors and contact partners to work by phone and e-mail.
The distribution and payment of royalties to authors and work owners are also very timely in the context of social distancing, leading to difficulties in the lives of many musicians.

Vợ và con trai cố nhạc sĩ Hoàng Giác phấn khởi khi nhận tiền tác quyền vào những ngày giãn cách xã hội khó khăn này.

The wife and son of late musician Hoang Giac are excited to receive royalties on these difficult days of social distancing.

Musician Hoai An shared: “During the days of social distancing in Ho Chi Minh City, I, like many people, had to work home. In fact, I have been working home since mid-April 2021 until now. Life is also turned upside down and there are many inconveniences. Fortunately, there is still income royalties. It is this revenue that helps Hoai An ensure life.
Le Duy Long, son of late musician Thanh Son, said: “Covid-19 makes travel difficult, but VCPMC has also tried its best to pay royalties to authors on time. Most of it is transferred to the ac, and the musicians who do not have an ac, or do not need it,  to end the distance and then go to the Collection Center. The amount of my familys royalties in this second quarter is also equivalent to the amount in the first quarter of 2021 and I am satisfied that the Center "facilitates musicians".
Musician Nguyen Van Chung, one of the musicians who received a rather high amount of royalties in the second quarter of 2021, said: "Although Covid-19 has affected artistic activities, the royalties Chung received Despite extremely difficult social distancing conditions, each person himself has to face obstacles and struggles in his own life, but VCPMC still tries to complete the job well. the verification and payment to authors for the second quarters copyrights within the prescribed time limit.
For musicians, the amount of royalties received at this time is extremely necessary and precious, because it is a buoy to help people overcome difficult circumstances when the pandemic is prolonged and complicated." ".
Musician and singer Nguyen Khac Viet, one of the top young authors who received high copyright in the second quarter of 2021, affirmed: “I am active in music as both a musician and a singer. The Covid-19 epidemic has caused performance activities to freeze, with the sole source of revenue copyright. When the public cant see the performance, they listen and watch more on Internet platforms, especially when information technology develops with many forms with rich use of music. During this pandemic, without the Center with modern technologies, it would be difficult to bring benefits to the author and thus the musicians brain would be greatly lost.
The Vietnam Center for Music Copyright Protection is the only representative - a member of CISAC that has signed agreements and bilateral cooperation with 76 collective management organizations CMOs and publishers, with the scope of applied in 116 ries and territories around the world. Currently, VCMPC has over 4,600 domestic work owners and about 3 million foreign authors authorizing VCPMC.
